Whether it's learn-to-swim, swim team, lap swimming, water aerobics, open swimming, or pool parties, Birmingham Swim League is the place to be. The Birmingham Swim League is the highest nationally ranked aquatics organization in the state of Alabama. We are located at the Wald Park pool in Vestavia Hills off of Hwy 31 behind the Vestavia Hills West Elementary School and the Parks and Recreation Department.

Here at the Birmingham Swim League, we offer the only Swim America lesson program in all of Alabama. Swim America lessons are designed to teach all the swim skills your child needs to be safe in and around the water for a lifetime. Our swim school focuses on safety skills first, then the skills necessary to become a great swimmer. Swim America is the only swim program endorsed by the American Swimming Coaches Association, the most prestigious coaches association in the world.

The Birmingham Swim League also offers competitive swim team that competes locally, regionally, and nationally. BSL consistently finishes in the top 200 in the National Virtual Club Championships out of more than 2,600 teams nationwide. The Birmingham Swim League takes a "stepping stone" approach to the swim team as well as our lesson program. Swimmers are placed into groups based on ability level with others of similar ability and age. Practices are offered almost every day for every group for convenience because we know most children participate in many activities at the same time. Beginning level groups are encouraged to practice 2-4 times per week depending on the group.

Adults, we haven't forgotten about you! If it's water aerobics, lap swimming or competitive Masters swimming you are looking for, BSL has what you need. Options are available to join the pool for the winter with a membership, punch card, or daily fee. Bring the entire family for a Saturday afternoon of open swimming. The pool can also be rented for birthday parties or any type celebration.
